Nottingham Market Square Fountain

My favourite so far. Except maybe the till at Tesco. I donned the waterproofs (almost waterproofs as it turns out) and headed out into the fountain in the Market Square. Thanks to Katherine Wilson for this challenge. On the bus home a girl offered me a handful of serviettes to dry off with. Bless!

£20 raised.

Fireman Plank

I was challenged by some friends to get a policeman to plank alongside me. Unfortunately this was not possible so they allowed me to substitute a fireman. Lovely guy!

£40 raised.

Gents' Toilet

Thanks to James for challenging me to do this one... Not. Chambers in Nottingham - the gents' toilet stunk but I managed a planking nonetheless. The challenge was to plank across the top of two cubicles in the mens' toilet of a dodgy Nottingham bar. Done.

£30 raised.

Riverbank Planking

A fiver to plank on the bar at the Riverbank. Should've been an easy challenge, but you can't see the heels I was wearing!

£5 raised, plus £20 from someone who enjoyed the plank.

Planking at Tesco

Mike Gardiner only mentioned one trolley, but why have one when you can have many!!
And the Tesco employee who took this photo thought he'd lose his job if anyone caught us, but it's all for a good cause!

£30 raised. :)

Outstanding Challenges

Challenges outstanding:

... planking in the rug section of John Lewis
... planking on my friend Hayley's face (could be quite painful for Hayley, but she's paying!)
... planking in an X-ray machine (proof must be the X-ray picture). I probably won't do this due to health reasons.

Luggage Carousel

The picture here doesn't do this planking justice - it was actually moving with luggage on it, surrounded by people waiting for their suitcases. Unfortunately my embarrassed photographer didn't capture the whole scene...

£10 raised.

Copenhagen Airport Lounge

This one is for Ian Nicholas. Shame he couldn't stay to witness it!

Glad nobody was sitting there...
£10 raised.

Airplane Aisle

Another success! Mike Gardiner - time for you to pay up! The man taking this photo was very confused. :)

£20 raised.

Airport Check-in Desk

Thank you to the lovely Air France gentleman for letting me use their check-in desk for this challenge. Lars Dahl, time for you to pay up!!

£10 raised.

What is charity planking?

Hello.

My name is Kajsa. I am climbing Kilimanjaro in August to raise money and awareness for the charity Practical Action (www.practicalaction.org) and a friend of mine gave me the idea to get sponsored for planking in random places as a way to raise some extra cash. I mean, who doesn't want to see another person making a fool of themselves??

Planking involves laying face down on an object with your arms at your side. The body should be straight. Excellent examples of planking can be found at www.planking.me.

The entries in this blog will be dedicated to those who gave me the challenges and will provide the evidence they need in order to make a donation.

If you'd like to set me a planking challenge, please leave it as a comment on this post and I will do my best to perform it. Once I have succeeded, please make a donation.

Donations, however large or small, should be made at www.justgiving.com/killingkili2012

If you need ideas, please know that I spend time in Nottingham, Oslo and at the following airports: Birmingham, Heathrow, Copenhagen, Oslo. Challenges so far include:

... I must plank in the aisle on my next flight.
... I must plank on the check-in counter at Oslo Airport.
... I must plank in the rug section of John Lewis.
... I must plank on a luggage carousel.

I will attempt to do the three travel-related challenges today. Watch this space!!
